There’s much more to The Wood Norton than beautiful stays, fabulous food, weddings, and events. Behind the scenes, there’s also a genuine commitment to giving back and supporting a cause that makes a lasting difference.

The organisation particularly close to the heart of The Wood Norton is ISF Cambodia, a charity working to create brighter futures for some of Cambodia’s most disadvantaged children, young people, and families.

∙ CREATING OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH EDUCATION ∙

ISF Cambodia was founded in 2006, initially supporting just 15 children. Since then, its work has grown considerably, reaching thousands of young people and members of their wider communities.

At the heart of its work is a belief in the power of education to create genuine, long-term pathways out of poverty. But the support offered by ISF goes far beyond simply getting children into classrooms.

Young people can receive years of educational support alongside nutritious meals, healthcare, school uniforms and materials, English and IT lessons, sport, and help progressing into further education, training, or employment.

The charity also works with families and communities through adult literacy, employment initiatives, libraries, and programmes designed to give parents greater opportunities to support themselves and their families.

∙ MIRANDA LEUNG AND THE WOOD NORTON ∙

Driving much of The Wood Norton’s charitable work is its owner, Miranda Leung, who is also a Trustee of ISF Cambodia and a passionate supporter of its work.

A graduate of Magdalen College, Oxford, Miranda practised as a lawyer for 26 years at Slaughter and May, including 16 years as a partner, before going on to hold a number of board and non-executive roles.

Alongside an impressive professional career, she has maintained a strong commitment to education, opportunity, and creating better futures for others, something reflected in her involvement with ISF Cambodia and in the charitable work supported by The Wood Norton.
